PET/MR scan for brain metastasis imaging

Brain MetastasisRadiation TherapyImmunotherapy, Active

Part of Brain & nervous system, Cancer clinical trials.

This trial uses a special PET/MR scan with a radioactive tracer to help tell the difference between tumor regrowth and changes from radiation treatment in people with brain metastases. It may help doctors make better treatment decisions.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with brain metastases and have at least one visible tumor on a brain MRI.
  • You received radiation therapy to the brain within the last 2 years.
  • You have had other treatments like immunotherapy, targeted therapy, or chemotherapy in the past 6 months.
  • Your doctor or radiologist is unsure if changes on your last MRI are due to tumor growth or treatment effects.
  • You can lie still for 30-60 minutes for the scan.

NCT06048094Recruiting· Phase 1
PET scan study for brain metastases treated with radiosurgery

This trial tests a special PET scan (18F-fluciclovine) to see how well it shows brain metastases after stereotactic radiosurgery (a precise form of radiation). It may help doctors better understand treatment effects.

NCT05554302Recruiting· Phase 2
PET scan study for brain metastases after surgery

This trial studies how well a special PET scan tracer (18F-fluciclovine) shows amino-acid changes in brain metastases after they are surgically removed. It may help improve how doctors detect and understand brain metastases and guide follow-up treatment like targeted radiation (SRS).

Miami, Florida
NCT06055790Recruiting· Phase 2
PET scan to find brain tumors from other cancers

This study tests a special PET/CT scan that uses a tracer called 18F-fluciclovine to find brain tumors that have spread from other cancers. It may help doctors see if this scan can better identify these tumors before treatment.

Tucson, Arizona
NCT04689048Recruiting· Phase 1
Testing a brain scan tracer for large, staged brain metastases

This Phase 1 study tests an injected radioactive tracer (18F-fluciclovine) to improve how doctors image and assess large brain metastases. It may help guide treatment when you’re receiving staged stereotactic radiosurgery (focused radiation in steps).

NCT06511323Not yet recruiting
Brain metastasis imaging study with PET scan after radiotherapy

This trial uses a special PET scan to see how well stereotactic radiotherapy works for brain metastases. You may join if you have at least one brain tumor that your doctor thinks should be treated with this precise type of radiation.

NCT07632092Recruiting
Brain Imaging Study After Radiotherapy for Cancer Spread

This study uses a special type of brain scan (PET imaging) to better understand how cancer that has spread to the brain responds to radiation treatment. The scan may help doctors see which patients are responding well to treatment.
