  • You have a clear cause of brain injury (like from a car crash or stroke).
  • You have a disorder of consciousness, meaning you are not fully awake or aware.
  • Your Glasgow Coma Scale score is 12 or less, which shows a moderate to severe level of brain injury.
  • The injury happened within the last six months.
