  • You are 60 years old or older.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is under 30 – this means you are not overweight or obese.
  • You are generally healthy, can walk around without help, and live independently.
  • You have enough arm strength to use crutches or a walker.
  • You do not have serious health issues like heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, or a history of blood clots.
  • You are not currently taking certain medications like blood thinners, steroids, or hormones.
