Who can take part
- You have a complete blockage in a heart artery that has lasted at least 3 months and regular wires couldn't get through.
- You are able to have non-emergency heart angioplasty (a procedure to open the artery).
- Your heart's pumping strength is over 20% (measured in the last year).
- Your blood pressure is under 180 at the time of the procedure.
- You have not had a heart attack or stroke in the last 2 weeks to 1 month.
- You do not have an active infection, a recent major heart failure, or a pacemaker or defibrillator.
