Who can take part
- You are scheduled for an exercise test where a small tube is placed in the heart (right heart catheterization) to assess why you feel short of breath during activity.
- You can be in this study if your heart's pumping strength is normal or reduced, and even if you have different levels of pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs).
- You are able and willing to have an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) with injection of a contrast agent (a safe dye) during the procedure to better see blood flow in the lungs.
- You must not have had a prior allergic reaction to the contrast dye used in heart ultrasounds.
