Who can take part
- You had a clot-caused stroke that happened 2 to 12 weeks ago, and you are still having mild to moderate symptoms (or have recovered well).
- You have been told you have atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat), either before or after your stroke.
- You have been taking blood thinners (like warfarin, apixaban, rivaroxaban, or edoxaban) for at least 4 weeks.
- Your heart structure is suitable for two procedures: a catheter ablation (pulmonary vein isolation) and a device to close the left atrial appendage.
- You are between 18 and 80 years old, and you do not have any other major health problems like severe heart failure, kidney failure, active cancer, or a history of bleeding in the brain.
