Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a catheter ablation procedure to treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) that hasn't been controlled with medication.
- Your CHA2DS2-VASc score (a stroke risk measure) is between 1 and 4 for men, or 1 and 4 for women (excluding the gender point).
- You are currently taking a direct oral anticoagulant (like rivaroxaban, dabigatran, apixaban, or edoxaban) and plan to continue it long-term.
- You are between 19 and 89 years old and willing to sign a consent form.
- You have not had a stroke or TIA, do not have a bleeding disorder, severe anemia, or severe kidney or liver disease.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or if of childbearing age, you agree to use effective contraception.
- You do not have a pacemaker, implantable loop recorder, or have had a left atrial appendage closure procedure.
