Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have a moderate or severe traumatic brain injury or a cerebrovascular condition (like a stroke) that requires care in a neurosurgical intensive care unit.
  • You have been in the hospital for at least 1 week.
  • Your family member or guardian understands the study and agrees to sign a consent form.
  • You are not in a coma or brain dead, and you are not on dialysis or have advanced cancer.
