Comparing biopsy vs. aspiration for shoulder/elbow revision surgery

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are able to provide your own consent to take part.
  • You are scheduled for a revision (redo) surgery on your shoulder or elbow replacement.
  • You have one of these shoulder or elbow replacement types: total shoulder, hemi-shoulder, reverse total shoulder, total elbow, distal humeral hemiarthroplasty, or radial head arthroplasty.
  • You have stopped taking antibiotics at least 2 weeks before the procedure.
  • You are not pregnant.
