- Your child has a heart defect and is scheduled for heart surgery with a heart-lung machine.
- Your child is between 0 and under 6 years old on the day of surgery.
- Your child has not had an allergic reaction to EXPAREL or similar numbing medicines.
- Your child was not born before 35 weeks of pregnancy.
- Your child does not have bleeding problems or a weak immune system.
