Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • Your white blood cell count is expected to stay very low for a week or more.
  • You are currently hospitalized at Mass General Brigham or Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
  • You had a fever (temperature of 38.3°C or higher once, or 38.0°C or higher for at least an hour) while admitted.
  • You have been without fever for at least 48 hours.
  • You are not currently being treated for a bacterial infection.
