Who can take part

  • Age 18 or younger with a blood cancer (leukemia or lymphoma) or solid tumor receiving intense chemotherapy
  • Currently experiencing fever (≥38°C) with very low white blood cell counts (<500 cells/mm³)
  • Started antibiotics for this fever episode within the last 48–72 hours
  • Blood tests show low risk of serious bacterial infection (low CRP and PCT markers, no low blood pressure)
  • Feeling significantly better after 2–3 days: fever gone, stable vital signs, no detected bacterial infection
  • Able and willing to follow study visits and agree to participate (parent/guardian consent required)
