Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You have a condition that requires a ventriculostomy (draining fluid from the brain) OR a growth in or near the pituitary gland that needs surgery through the nose.
  • You can safely have an MRI or CT scan (no metal implants or devices that are not compatible).
  • You do not have severe claustrophobia (fear of tight spaces).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are able to make your own medical decisions.
