Spinal cord stimulation with arm bike for heart health in SCI

This study tests if adding spinal cord stimulation to arm bike exercise can improve heart and blood vessel health in people with chronic spinal cord injury. You would come to the clinic up to 3 times a week for up to 6 months.

Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 65 years old.
  • You have a long-term spinal cord injury (more than 10 months ago) at or above the T6 level that has caused complete motor paralysis (AIS A or B).
  • You don't have any heart or lung disease that would make intense exercise unsafe.
  • You get clearance from your primary doctor to do strenuous arm bike exercise.
  • You can attend clinic visits up to 3 times per week for up to 6 months.
