Walking in Nature vs. City for Prediabetes

This study compares walking in natural green spaces (like parks) versus walking in built environments (like city streets) for adults with prediabetes. You will be asked to walk three times a week for 30 minutes for 4 weeks in each setting, and researchers will see how your body responds.

Who can take part

  • You are 25–64 years old.
  • You have prediabetes (confirmed by a doctor in the last year or by a blood test).
  • You are currently doing 100 minutes or less of moderate-to-vigorous exercise per week.
  • You do not have diabetes or take diabetes medications.
  • You have no history of heart disease, stroke, heart attack, or related procedures.
  • You own a smartphone and can download an app for tracking walks.
