This study uses a special 3D lung scan (V/Q SPECT/CT) to see if leftover blockages in your lungs can predict if another blood clot will come back. You may be eligible if your doctor has decided it's safe to stop your blood thinners after 3 to 6 months of treatment for a first blood clot.

Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- You have had a confirmed blood clot in your lungs (pulmonary embolism).
- You have been treated with blood thinners for 3 to 6 months and your doctor plans to stop them now.
- You do not have a strong reason to stay on blood thinners, such as cancer or a second blood clot that happened for no obvious reason.
- You do not have other ongoing health issues like obesity, chronic lung disease, inflammatory disease, liver or kidney problems that would require longer blood thinners.
