Vibrating pad for apnea in very premature babies

This trial is testing a special vibrating pad (Prapela®) placed in the incubator to see if it can help reduce apnea episodes (pauses in breathing) in very premature babies. It is for babies who are already getting caffeine medicine and need only minimal extra breathing support.

Who can take part

  • Your baby was born between 22 weeks 0 days and 32 weeks 6 days of pregnancy.
  • Your baby is a single birth (not a twin, triplet, etc.).
  • In the last 24 hours, your baby has had at least 4 apnea events (pauses in breathing).
  • Your baby is getting caffeine citrate medicine to help with breathing.
  • Your baby is not on a ventilator or having extra pressure support for breathing.
  • Your baby does not have major birth defects (except a small hernia or patent ductus arteriosus).
