Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have drug-resistant epilepsy starting in the temporal lobe (the side of your brain near your temples).
  • You have had at least 4 noticeable seizures in the past 8 weeks and at least one seizure each month.
  • You are on a stable dose of seizure medicines for at least 30 days.
  • You have no metal implants in your head or brain, no brain surgery scars in the treatment area, and no pacemaker or other implanted electronic device.

This trial tests whether focused ultrasound can help people whose seizures are not controlled by two or more medications. You would have a noninvasive procedure while awake, pressing a stop button if needed, and your hair will be partially shaved.
