Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 4 and 17 years old.
  • Epilepsy seizures have not been controlled by at least two different medications.
  • The brain lesion causing seizures (like a hypothalamic hamartoma or a benign tumor) must be visible on MRI and safely reachable by the focused ultrasound device.
  • Your child's head must be large enough (over 52 cm around) and they must be able to tolerate a stereotactic frame for precise targeting.
  • No bleeding disorders or use of blood-thinning medications.
