NaviFUS treatment for drug-resistant temporal lobe seizures

This trial tests the NaviFUS system to treat seizures that keep happening despite seizure medicines, specifically in people with temporal lobe epilepsy. If you qualify, you would be carefully checked before and during the study, including seizure tracking and brain scans, to see whether treatment helps reduce seizures.

Who can take part

  • You have drug-resistant temporal lobe epilepsy (seizures starting in the temporal lobe).
  • In the 2-month period before enrollment, you had at least 4 observable seizures, each on a different day.
  • Your seizures are focal (start in one area), with or without spreading to the whole brain.
  • You’ve had at least 24 hours of video-EEG (brain recording) and full epilepsy workup confirming your seizure start zone is in the temporal lobe.
  • You can keep your seizure diary and complete study visits and English neuropsychological testing (with an English-speaking study partner if needed).
  • Your seizure medicines are expected to stay the same during the trial, except for rescue medicine or occasional extra doses as needed.
