Biphasic sleep in 9-month-old infants

Sleep Deprivation

This study looks at how infants sleep in two different patterns (biphasic sleep) and how that relates to their development. If your child is 9 months old and healthy, researchers will track their sleep and development over the next 6 months.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be 9 months old at the start of the study.
  • Your child was born full-term (between 36 and 41 weeks) and weighed between 5.5 and 10 pounds at birth.
  • Your child does not have any developmental delays, vision or motor problems, or serious medical conditions like seizures.
  • You must be able to bring your child to the study site for follow-up visits in 3 and 6 months.
  • Your child should not have traveled across time zones within the past 2 weeks and must be healthy (no fever or illness) on test days.
