Who can take part

  • You are between 12 and 18 years old.
  • You weigh at least 45 kg (99 lbs), or at least 35 kg if you are in a later group.
  • You have a type of thickened heart muscle that runs in families or is caused by a gene change.
  • Your heart's pumping strength is normal or better, and there is a significant blockage during a Valsalva maneuver (forceful breathing out).
  • You have had symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, or feeling tired, even with mild activity.
