Who can take part

  • You have obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM)—a thickened heart muscle that blocks blood flow—confirmed by heart ultrasound
  • You are currently taking mavacamten and it's working well for you
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) is at least 55% on your current dose
  • You are willing to switch medications and attend follow-up visits for the study
  • You do not have atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm) that is not controlled with blood thinners
  • You do not have severe narrowing of coronary arteries (the blood vessels supplying your heart)

Effect of mavacamten on heart blood flow in HCM

This study tests whether the drug mavacamten (Camzyos) improves blood flow in the heart's small vessels for people with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. You will take mavacamten as prescribed and have a PET/CT scan to measure your heart's blood flow reserve.
