Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You must have cirrhosis (liver scarring) that is not causing severe symptoms like fluid buildup or confusion.
  • You must have a specific heart condition called cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (detected on an ultrasound of the heart).
  • You cannot have taken any statin (cholesterol-lowering drug) in the past month.
  • You cannot have severe cirrhosis (a score above 9 on the Child-Turcotte-Pugh test) or other serious illnesses like kidney failure, heart disease, or certain infections.
