Heart surgery study on blood clotting and inflammation

This study examines how heart-lung machines used during heart surgery affect blood platelets (clotting cells) and the body's inflammatory response. Understanding these changes may help doctors better manage bleeding and inflammation after cardiac surgery.

Bypass Techniques for Complex Aortic Aneurysm Surgery

This trial compares two different surgical approaches to repair a life-threatening tear or bulge in the large artery that carries blood from the heart (aorta). The study will help doctors determine which technique is safer and works better for patients needing this complex surgery.

Surgery outcomes study for complex abdominal and chest aneurysms

This study follows people with complex aortic aneurysms who need open surgery instead of a less invasive procedure. It aims to understand treatment results and may help improve care for similar patients.

Platelet function study in heart surgery

This study looks at how well platelets work during heart surgery using a special test called thromboelastography. It may help doctors understand and manage bleeding risks in people having planned heart surgery with a heart-lung machine.

NCT04045665Recruiting· Phase 3
Blood thinner vs usual care for new heart rhythm after bypass surgery

This trial tests whether using a blood thinner in people with new, temporary atrial fibrillation after CABG (heart bypass surgery) can reduce harmful outcomes compared with standard treatment. It may help prevent stroke or other complications if your rhythm problem fits the trial’s timing and risk profile.

NCT05305612Enrolling by invitation· Phase 4
Blood thinner timing during heart procedures to protect against clots

This study compares the best way to give blood thinners around certain heart procedures (TEER or left atrial appendage closure). It aims to lower the risk of dangerous clots and bleeding during and after the procedure.
