Who can take part
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of acute aortic tear or rupture (ATAAD) seen on a CT scan
- You are at least 18 years old
- Your doctors determine you need major aortic repair surgery with heart-lung machine support
- You do not have serious kidney failure, heart failure, or liver disease
- You have not had recent major stroke, cancer, or inflammatory aortic diseases
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy during the study period
