  • You are on ECMO (a heart-lung machine) or need to start it within 12 hours
  • You do not have any condition that prevents you from taking blood thinners (like heparin, argatroban, or enoxaparin)
  • You are not pregnant
  • You were not already on a blood thinner before ECMO was started
  • ECMO was not started during CPR (chest compressions)
