Who can take part

  • You are diagnosed with unipolar depression (major depressive disorder) by a doctor.
  • You are not currently taking medications that affect the brain (except antidepressants or lithium).
  • You do not have other serious psychiatric disorders like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or borderline personality disorder.
  • You do not have a sleep disorder such as sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, or narcolepsy.
  • You are right-handed.
  • You are not pregnant, and you have no unstable medical conditions or neurological disorders like epilepsy.
