PEMF Therapy for Hamstring Strength After ACL Surgery

This study tests whether wearing a special device (PEMF) for a few minutes each day can help you regain hamstring strength more quickly after ACL surgery. If your hamstring is still weaker than your other leg at 4 months, this may help you recover better.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • This is your first ACL surgery, using your own hamstring tendon
  • Both of your knees were healthy before this surgery (no past injuries or surgeries)
  • At your 4-month checkup, your hamstring strength in the operated leg is less than 85% of your healthy leg
  • No major knee injuries at the same time (like a broken bone, big meniscus tear, or cartilage damage)
  • You do not have any metal implants or electronic medical devices like pacemakers, insulin pumps, or nerve stimulators
