Who can take part

  • You are 65 years or older and had a stroke within the last 15 days.
  • Your stroke was confirmed by a brain scan (MRI or CT).
  • Doctors did not find atrial fibrillation or a blood clot in your heart during your hospital stay.
  • You have signs suggesting atrial fibrillation, such as strokes in different brain areas, a dilated heart chamber, or certain test results.
  • You have agreed to wear a heart monitor (like a Holter or implantable loop recorder) for a long time to detect atrial fibrillation.
  • Your disability level is mild to moderate (Rankin score 4 or less).
