Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 30 years old.
  • You are an amateur football (soccer) player and have been playing regularly for at least the past year.
  • You have moderate to severe shin pain (rating 4 to 10 on a 0-10 pain scale).
  • Your shin splints are classified as category 2 or 3 using a special scoring system (males: 2-29, females: 6-29).
  • You have not had a leg fracture, surgery, or major injury in the last 6 months.
  • You do not have blood vessel disease, cancer, leg length difference, or any major alignment problems in your legs.
