Adrenal artery treatment for aldosteronism study

Primary AldosteronismSuper Selective Adrenal Arterial Embolization

Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This study tests a procedure that blocks tiny arteries in the adrenal gland to treat high blood pressure and low potassium caused by aldosteronism. It may be an option if you cannot take medications or cannot have surgery.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with primary aldosteronism (a condition causing high blood pressure and low potassium).
  • You cannot take medications because of side effects, or you cannot have surgery due to risks, or you still have aldosteronism after surgery.
  • You and your family have been informed about all treatments and you choose adrenal artery embolization voluntarily.
  • You are not pregnant, nursing, or planning pregnancy, and you have no other health conditions that would make this unsafe.

NCT06513585Recruiting
Two treatments for primary aldosteronism: embolization vs. surgery

This study compares two treatments for primary aldosteronism (a condition causing high blood pressure due to an adrenal gland issue). One treatment is a minimally invasive procedure called superselective embolization, and the other is keyhole surgery. This trial aims to see which is better and safer for patients.

NCT05561361Recruiting
Test treatment for primary aldosteronism and blood vessel function

This trial studies whether a specific treatment (related to spironolactone/aldosterone support) can improve how well your blood vessels work in people with primary aldosteronism. It may help reduce blood pressure risk by improving blood vessel health.

NCT06228677Recruiting
Catecholamine levels during adrenal artery embolization

This trial measures hormone levels in blood during a procedure to treat high blood pressure caused by an adrenal gland problem. It may help doctors understand how the body responds during treatment.

Chengdu, Sichuan
NCT05501080Recruiting
Testing a hormone treatment to improve heart changes in PA

This trial tests whether a treatment called SAAE can improve “ventricular remodeling,” meaning changes in the heart muscle, in people with primary aldosteronism (PA). It may help the heart work more efficiently by targeting the cause of high aldosterone levels.

NCT04409431Recruiting
Spironolactone plus adrenal nerve treatment for adrenal overactivity

This trial studies whether blocking part of the adrenal blood supply (“adrenal artery ablation”) along with spironolactone can improve hormone-driven high blood pressure caused by primary aldosteronism. It may help people who have confirmed adrenal overactivity and do not want surgery.

NCT07298954Recruiting
Comparing adrenal vein sampling methods for primary aldosteronism

This trial compares different ways of doing adrenal vein sampling (a test to find which adrenal gland is causing high blood pressure). It aims to see if combining methods works better than using just one for people with primary aldosteronism.
