Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- You have a heart artery that is narrowed at least 70% (or 50% with evidence of poor blood flow) and has calcium deposits.
- You have had a stent placed previously that is not fully opened because of calcium, confirmed by a special ultrasound (IVUS).
- You do not have serious bleeding risks, a recent stroke, or severe kidney or liver disease.
- You are not pregnant or nursing, and you do not have a life expectancy less than 12 months due to other illnesses.
