Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have sepsis (a serious infection affecting your whole body) when you are admitted to the hospital or during your stay in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- You are expected to stay in the ICU for at least 24 hours.
- You do not have severe kidney disease (like needing dialysis or having very low kidney function), liver cirrhosis with high blood pressure in the liver vein, or a blocked urinary tract.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are not receiving only comfort care (palliative care).
