This study is testing a new way of giving a very short, high-dose radiation treatment (called 'primer shot' radiotherapy) for people with non-small cell lung cancer. The goal is to see if it’s safe and practical for shrinking the main lung tumor and relieving symptoms.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is stage 2, 3, or 4.
  • You are scheduled to receive radiation therapy to the main tumor in your lung to help with symptoms (palliative treatment).
  • Your overall health is good enough that you can do daily activities with little or no help (WHO performance score 0–2).
  • You do not have interstitial lung disease (a lung scarring condition) and are not taking medications that block blood vessel growth (VEGFR inhibitors).
  • You have not had prior radiation to the chest that would overlap with the area we need to treat now.
