Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a total knee replacement.
  • You are in good general health (ASA class I-III).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or lower.
  • You do not have a pre-existing nerve problem or disability in your other leg.
  • You are not a chronic user of strong painkillers (opioids).
  • You have no clotting disorder or infection where the nerve block would be given.
