Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are in the intensive care unit (ICU) and on a breathing machine (intubated).
  • Your doctor has decided to use a thin tube (catheter) to measure pressure in your lung artery.
  • You do not have any electronic devices like a pacemaker or metal implants in your chest.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have open wounds, drains, burns, or rashes on your upper chest.
