- You are 18 years or older
- You have type 1 diabetes and visit Diabeter in Amsterdam or the Netherlands
- You do not have an active infection right now
- You are able to provide a stool and urine sample
- You have not smoked or used recreational drugs (like MDMA, amphetamine, cocaine, heroin, or GHB) in the past 3 months
