Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and identify as a minority group as defined by the U.S. Census.
  • You have a heart blockage that needs a stent or balloon procedure, and the blockage is one of these types: heavy calcium buildup, at a vessel opening, at a branch point, in the left main artery, completely blocked, a re-blocked stent, longer than about 1 inch, or you need a heart pump for support during the procedure.
  • You have no heart attack symptoms or unstable chest pain requiring emergency treatment right now.
  • Your blockages can be treated with FDA-approved drug-coated stents or balloons.
  • You are willing to follow the study procedures and attend follow-up visits until the study ends.
  • You understand the risks and benefits and sign a consent form.
