Testing a new brain scan tracer for Huntington's disease

This trial tests a new radioactive tracer called [11C]CHDI-00491009 that may show mutant huntingtin protein in the brain using a PET scan. It aims to find out if the tracer is safe and helps see Huntington's disease changes. If you have early-stage Huntington's or are a healthy volunteer, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 64 years old.
  • Your weight and height give a body mass index (BMI) between 19 and 35.
  • You are willing to travel to Leuven, Belgium for the imaging visit.
  • You can give written consent and follow study procedures like fasting and blood draws.
  • If you have Huntington's, your CAG repeat count must be between 40 and 50 and your disease stage must be 2 or 3.
  • If you are a healthy volunteer, you must have no family history of Huntington's, or if you do, you must have tested negative for the gene.
