  • You had a large stroke in the middle cerebral artery, confirmed by MRI or CT scan
  • You are between 18 and 69 years old
  • Your family and an independent doctor have agreed to the surgery
  • You do not need emergency brain surgery right away
  • You are not allergic to polymethyl-methacrylate (PMMA) or gentamicin
