Drug Balloon vs Stent for Calcified Nodules After Shockwave

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have stable heart disease or a recent heart attack, and need a balloon or stent procedure
  • Your doctor has confirmed a hard calcium deposit (calcified nodule) in a heart artery using special imaging
  • The artery to be treated is between 2.5 and 4 mm wide
  • You can take two blood-thinning medicines for at least one month after the procedure
