Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You are in good general health (classified as ASA I or II).
  • You are scheduled for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction through knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery).
  • You do not have kidney failure, liver failure, heart disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes.
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or an allergy to the study drugs (dexmedetomidine or bupivacaine).
  • You have not taken NSAIDs or other painkillers in the 24 hours before surgery.
