Who can take part
- You are 18 or older and have been diagnosed with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (cancer that has spread outside the lung).
- You have not received any prior treatment for this advanced lung cancer (except possibly for limited-stage disease if you stayed cancer-free for at least 6 months after treatment).
- You must be in good enough daily health to do your usual activities without much help (ECOG performance status 0 or 1).
- Your cancer must be measurable by scans, and you must be able to provide a tumor tissue sample (either from a past biopsy or a new one).
- You cannot have certain health issues like active brain metastases, severe autoimmune disease, active hepatitis, or HIV.
- Women who can have children must not be pregnant or nursing and must use effective birth control during the study.
