- You have extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (cancer that has spread beyond one lung and nearby lymph nodes).
- You have not received any prior chemotherapy or other systemic treatment for this cancer.
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- Your overall health (ECOG score) is 0 or 1, meaning you are fully active or able to do light work.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
- Your kidney, liver, and blood test results meet specific levels within 14 days before starting treatment.
