Exploring brain stimulation for stepping after stroke

This study tests whether a mild electrical brain stimulation can help people with chronic stroke improve their stepping and walking. If you have had a stroke at least 6 months ago, can walk with or without a device, and have some leg weakness, this study may be for you.

Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 90 years old
  • You had a stroke at least 6 months ago that affected your movement on one side
  • You have some weakness in your leg from the stroke
  • You can walk 10 meters with or without help (like a cane or walker)
  • You can stand without help for at least 30 seconds
  • You have no metal implants or pacemaker, and no history of seizures
