Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You have bleeding in the basal ganglia area (deep brain) and the clot is 30 to 100 ml in size
- Bleeding started less than 48 hours ago and surgery can begin within that time
- Your level of consciousness is reduced (GCS score between 4 and 14)
- You were independent before the stroke (modified Rankin Scale score 0 or 1)
- Your systolic blood pressure is controlled below 140 mmHg before randomization
