Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have a type of heart muscle disease called non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (not caused by blocked arteries).
  • You are accepted to receive a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) – a mechanical pump to help your heart.
  • You have been on the best-tolerated heart failure medications for at least 2 months.
  • You do not have active infections, severe kidney or liver disease, or certain blood disorders.
