Who can take part

  • You are between 1 and 50 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (low platelets) based on a bone marrow test.
  • Your platelet count is less than 100 billion per liter.
  • You do not have other causes of low platelets, such as an enlarged spleen, bone marrow disease, recent chemotherapy or radiation, exposure to toxic chemicals, or certain medications.
