Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You must have respiratory failure (low oxygen, high carbon dioxide, or both, either sudden or long-term).
  • You are being admitted to the chest intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You are planning to receive treatment with a high-flow nasal cannula or a non-invasive breathing mask.
